Whole School reminders and updates Week 2 Term 4

Whole school reminders/updates:
Light it Red for Dyslexia
·         Last week and this week we are acknowledging and supporting Dyslexia Awareness
·         Students can bring in 50 cents and guess how many lollies in the "RED LOLLY JAR" (in the school office)
·         This Friday 27/10/17 students can wear a splash of RED (hat, socks, scarf, ribbons) to support Dyslexia Awareness
·         This Friday 27/10/17 students can purchase a ZOOPER DOOPER (Ice stick) for 50 cents - being sold at the end of the day in Taikondi.  
Help Steve Ride for Sick Kids SA
·         This Friday 27th October Steve Cleland will be in Taikondi (shelter area) all day riding his bike (on blocks).  In November he is riding his push bike for 1000km over seven days to raise money for sick kids.    
·         Students / parents can support him by placing a gold coin (or any coin) in the wheel that will be on the ground near him.    
·         Students can wear a splash of RED (hat, socks, scarf, ribbons) to support Steve and RMHC
Junior Youth Group - for students in year 5, 6 & 7 with Emma Lange.   
·         This Friday 27/10 after school 4pm - 5.30pm in Mr Semmler's room - theme is "Youth Paper Formal"
Reformation Service and Longest Lutheran Lunch
·         Held this Sunday 29 October starting at 10am at Immanuel School Gawler
·         All school families are welcome to join the Gawler Lutheran church community at this service and stay for the lunch (please bring a plate of finger food to share).
Gawler Village Fair and Rotary Club Art Exhibition
·         Come visit our schools stall at the Fair on Saturday 4th November at Pioneer Park.
·         Students can enter the Art competition which will be judged at the Fair.  Entries close this Friday 27/10/17.  See the Newsletter or website of office for more details.
Volunteer Training for parents - Valuing Safe Communities
·         Next week Wednesday 1st November 2.30pm or 6.30pm in the staffroom with Daryl
·         Please RSVP to the office.
2017 School Fees
·         All fees are now due, unless you are on a negotiated payment plan.
·         Please contact the Business Manager if you require any further extensions.
Honey Biscuits
·         To continue an Immanuel School tradition, we are looking for a few volunteers who can bake honey biscuits (about 420 of them) before the end of this term.  Please let Jenny in the office know. 
2017 Year 7 Exhibition
·         Wednesday 8th November 6.30 to 8pm – Senior Unit Building. 
·         All parents / friends welcome to come and view this spectacular exhibition
End of 2017 Year  - for your diaries: Secret Squirrel
·         Thursday 14th December is the last day of Term 4.  The formal End of Year and Graduation Service will be held at 2.00pm on this day.   All students will be involved some way.   Parents, family and friends are welcome to attend too.   Normal dismissal time is 3.30pm. 
·         The Year 7 Celebration / Social Night  will be held on Thursday 14th December starting at 6.30pm.  This will involve only Year 7's, their families and staff and there will be a dinner provided
2018 Planning
·         If you have any matters about your child for us to consider as we plan class groupings for 2018 please email darylt@ilsg.sa.edu.au by Friday 3rd November. 
·         If your child is not returning to Immanuel next year please provide the Principal with a courtesy written note ASAP.
